Rain-x wax

Just used Rain-x car wax and Rain-x windshield wax. Anyone here use any of these waxes?
If not, what is your favorite wax?

Rain X windsheild wax roxxors! I can highball down teh freeway in the pouring rain without wipers..... :D

DEI37 06-15-2003 04:16 AM

Any wax will do that, though. The wax at a car wash will do it even. The place I go to...the stuff lasts pretty much between car washes...twice a month. But yes, that is cool. No wipers, and you can see just fine.

Mook 06-15-2003 05:32 AM

It doesn't leave streaks or a fine film on the windshield that can't be washed off?

BoCo 06-15-2003 06:19 AM

I agree: Rain-X is the shit! I put it on about once a month and it works every bit as good as they advertise.

oiekeooiyw 06-15-2003 09:33 AM

That is very true, and Fog-X is great also. I don't know how it works, just know that it does. I would not have believed it until I tried it first hand. I only did my windshield and when my other windows did fog up my windshield was clear as could be.

Give them both a try and you will never stop using them.

P.S. If anyone has ever tried Rain-X Tire Protectant and loved it, and now hates the fact that the product has been discontinued AND have found a good replacement product. Please let me know I'm looking for one.

I love RainX.. when I borrow or rent a car, if I have it long enough and it's raining, I'll replace the wiper fluid because I just can't stand not having RainX...

Out of curiosity, how is rain-x applied? simply via your washer fluid or is it hand-applied to the windows?

Serpent 06-15-2003 03:43 PM

You first drab it on, let it set and wipe it off.

shakran 06-16-2003 08:13 AM

actually you can get rain-x wiper fluid. That stuff is the best 'cause you never have to do any work to keep your windshield coated.

Paper 06-16-2003 12:22 PM

Hmm, you've sparked my interest. Might have to go try this stuff. You're all great advertisers!

shakran 06-16-2003 01:31 PM

if you have a pep boys where you live, they sell (or at least they used to sell) the washer fluid

otter 06-16-2003 04:53 PM

another rain-x fan. great that you don't need wipers except in the heaviest downpours

udstudentxxx 06-17-2003 06:45 AM

has anyone tried the wax yet? i saw commercials weeks ago about it, but none of my local stores have stocked it yet. :hmm: im interested to see how it works

JStrider 06-17-2003 08:41 AM

well i was planning to do some hardcore cleaning of my car when i get back home for the second half of the summer... maybe ill give this stuff a try...

soccerchamp76 06-17-2003 09:23 AM

I bought the wax and used it on my car around 2 weeks ago. Car is still shiny yet I have not seen rain for the 2 weeks. Haven't been able to take advantage of the windshield wax either. I go on vacation and leave my to find out that it rained the entire time i was gone and I could have been home to see it work...

shakran 06-17-2003 09:04 PM

I'm not gonna worry about the wax. I'm perfectly happy with meguiars gold class wax. It's an excellent wax, and ANY wax will do what Rainx wax claims to do. I have my doubts that rainx's wax can get as deep a shine, however!

pattymac 06-18-2003 08:30 AM

have used the Rain-X on the Winshield and other windows of the car loved it it was great actually better than a regular wax on the windshield. Have tried the Tire wax it was great but have not found a sub for it that last as long.

wakelagger 06-21-2003 06:29 PM

Am I the only one who thinks X-Wax sounds like donald duck saying Exlax..?
It's offical, I'm crazy.
