GO FELIPE!!!
I am hoping he wins the championship. I still don't know how I feel about Kimi in a Ferrari since I have been rooting against him for so long but I'm sure he will be quick. I don't think Renault will accomplish much. Fisi is just not lead driver material. Of course Alonso will be a threat in the Mclaren depending on how he adapts to the new car and a team not quite as willing to conform to him. As long as Mclaren doesn't try to be too far ahead technologically like they did a few years ago though he will be quick. I'm sure Honda and Toyota will continue to talk about this being their break out year again. I would predict Honda to have more success. I wouldn't count out Red Bull Renault to snag points this year. If we wish hard enough maybe Scott Speed will surprise everyone with a podium. |
Early testing shows that Ferrari is ahead of the pack once again. . . and Massa is significantly ahead of Kimi as Kimi tries to adjust to the Ferrari. The McLaren still seems to have reliability issues, but Lewis Hamilton is going to be an exciting young driver to watch.
Ferrari's wheel base has been somewhat shorter than those of rivals in recent years, which makes for an oversteer tendency. The discrepancy isn't as large this year now that they've gone to standardized tires, but I bet it feels quite different from the snug McLaren that Kimi is used to. |
Mark my words: BMW-Sauber is to 2007 what McLaren was to 2006. They're going to find themselves a nice mix of DNF's and podiums, but no race wins. Kubica is a huge improvement over F1's second favorite Canadian and I expect they'll surpass Honda and possibly even Renault this year. Those Bavarians know a thing or two about building ultimate driving machines.
desal75 is clearly correct that Renault is going to be relegated to fourth- or fifth-best: you can't win races with crappy drivers. McLaren is a definite championship contender, with Hamilton surprisingly close in pace to Alonso. That said, my money is on Ferrari winning both titles. Drivers champion is hard to call, but I think Felipe's superior pace early in the season will be enough to put him ahead of Kimi at the end of the season. Despite the absence of Schumi, I am extremely excited for the new season. The Ferrari and McLaren teammate battles should be spectacular. |
Lewis Hamilton.....first black f-1 driver ...ever!
xoxoxoo |
2 more weeks....Looks like Ferrari are the team to beat so far. I'll be very surprised to see Sauber-BMW a consistent front runner...they have good drivers and road cars, but can they build a chassis yet? I'm dissapointed to see Wurz in the Williams, there is nobody but the test driver? I would have liked to see Piquet Jr. in the Williams like his old man used to be. It's time for Rosberg to put in some solid drives as well. Got my eye on Hamilton...hoping for good things from the youngster.

I am really excited to see what BMW does this year the more I learn about it the more impressed with there turn around I am.

go to http://www.grandprixdiary.com and check out Kubica's Korner. It is hilarious.
I hope he keeps performing at the same level as last year. Its time with some fresh faces on the podium and with the talent some of the young drivers have it will be interesting to see what the big rivalries shape up to be in the next couple of years. |
2nd practice is on...wide open field...seems like anyone could do well...my money is on massa/kiki/hamilton !!!....
|
go ferrari!
it's so refreshing to see F1 back on TV!!! :) |
Surprising gap between Kimi and Massa - was 0.614 seconds, just went up to 1.024. On the other hand, Hamilton's doing a great job of keeping up with Alonso. Also, I'll direct you to my prediction of BMW's successful season.

CAN'T WAIT FOR QUALIFING TONITE....NICE NOT TO HAVE TO GET UP AT 4:00 AM TO SEE THINGS............XOXOXOO

A few surprises in qualifying, but nothing earth-shattering. Massa's bad luck was unfortunate, as I think he probably would have taken pole if his gearbox had held together for much longer. So much the better for Kimi, though. Both he and Alonso seem to have adjusted quickly to their new homes. Personally, though, I was most impressed by Hamilton. To be that competitive in your debut qualifying is incredible. I'm really excited to see if he can translate grid position into points tomorrow.

swell race....better action than most.....some real racing going on...Massa made a great charge from the back to 5th and was faster than 4th....
.........and is Hamilton for real.....3rd in first ever F-1 race on a strange track!!!... xoxoxoo |
GO FERRARI!!
This may be a great season shaping up. Harking back to the Ferrari and Mclaren battles of a few years ago. It may only come down to which car is more reliable. Massa had a great drive for starting so far back and the other young talent was amazing to see also. I can't wait for Malaysia!! |
