Did anyone else find the Chevy truck commercial with 911... disgusting?
I saw this commercial a few weeks ago, I'm sure many of you have seen it. it features shots of many American scenic areas, historical figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Vietnam war and a shot of the 911 memorial. At the end they show a Chevy truck.
When I first saw the commercial I was a little annoyed, but to be honest, now whenever I see it I feel disgusted. If you want consumers to buy your product, invest your time and energy into making a superior product than your competitors. Chevy shouldn't cheapen the history of this country in order to sell some trucks. |
At least it wasn't Ford....

Not so much disgusted but surprised. I was reading an article in Automotive News about the commercial, and they were going for controversial, but I think they missed the mark. To me it like Forrest Gump gone awry.

I'm not really disgusted by it. I think actually I've become somewhat desensitized about commercials overall anyway. Honestly it doesn't really seem controversial to me either. It just seems that they are trying to convey that Chevy is part of our history just like the events pictured. My guess is that you don't drive a Chevy and don't particularly like them.
