Thanks. I've always been amazed by how drag slicks work, especially on extreme cars like dragsters, Funny Cars, ProStock, etc.
I think this is a good introduction to the basic concept, but I found this particular vid somewhat underwhelming. I recall seeing high speed camera shots that more dramatically showed the tire deformations and how they are used to enhance the launch, as well as things like how extremely the tires stretch out at high wheel revs. |
