A "toy" you didn't know you wanted !
1:6 scale Ferrari 250 GTO V12 engine....with sound!
http://gmpdiecast.com/images/products/ferrari.html details...... http://gmpdiecast.com/products/detai...3A6%20Engines# xoxoxoo |
Wow, that's beautiful ...and I think the price is not unreasonable considering all the workmanship.
Not that it's anywhere near that level of detail, but one of my favorite models from my "youth" was the visible V8, and more recently I got a cute little model of the 426 Hemi ...so this Ferrari motor will now be on my short wish list. |
It's lovely, but it needs to be driving something.
A blender? Oh for the thrill of clacking up through the gears while the mixed veggies turn to mush... |
Wow, that site has a bunch of die casts I want. Especially the vintage dirt car
|
No offense to those who do, but why would anybody want that?

pretty neat. I haven't seen this in some time. thanks for the reminder. |
Climbing a mountain actually fills you with a sense of achievemnt. I guess having $500 to spend on that thing is quite an achievemnt too.

Is this question similar to asking why anybody would pay $1mil+ for a Picasso? ...or that kind of thing? Seems to me it is. Since I've always enjoyed building models, even ones where all the pieces come in a box nearly ready to assemble, I would prefer an option to buy just the parts for this engine and assemble it myself, but I could enjoy and appreciate owning the assembled version too. |

Aro if you don't like the thing, don't post about it
I think its cool, but its a shame its a sound effect. The scale V8s that run on gas are uber cool: http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_gu...?engine_id=732 Video of a 1/4 scale V8 with Blower: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...472&q=scale+v8 Video of a 1/4 scale T bucket and Cobra in action: http://www.conleyprecision.com/movie.mpg |
