Toyota is leaps and bounds ahead of Mercedes as far as reliability goes.
Mercedes are known at the moment for producing cars since the Diamler Chrysler partnership with electrical problems causing distress and headache to the owners of the vehicles. I am well aware that Mercedes doesnt use all parts made in the US from Chrysler and that they are designed in Germany. Understand however it is cheaper and more cost efficient to produce many parts for Mercedes vehicles in the US since they can be made at Chrysler factories at a minimal cost. Chrysler does have a decent manufacturing process but it pails in comparision to the strictly Mercedes orientated factories. Aswell with Lexus you get Toyota relibility and warranty. Toyota once again holds the top spot in the lowest problems per vehicle where Mercedes is considerably down the line. You get Japanese engineering and engenuity at respectable rates. The powerplant is more efficient and produces better fuel economy and with quieter suspension it is a smoother and less noisy ride. |
