anyone know anything behind this mopar?
this was sold at barrett jackson, but i don't know anything about it...
http://www.fast-autos.net/events/06b...jackson/43.jpg clearly it's a 70 cuda with a new engine (probably a new 5.7 or 6.1 hemi?) crammed inside. i see it was featured in Mopar magazine... anyone know more about it? |
It's a viper engine. You can see the snake on the valve cover.
|
And, you can see the 10 intake runners. Definitely cool.

I really doubt they had to 'cram' that engine in there... old school cars are absolutely cavernous under the hood. as for this being done, eh, not terribly impressed, I'll take a carbureted v8, especially a BIG v8 over the v10 any day. /purist |

See, I just don't understand what would possess someone to do that to a 'Cuda. There are much better powerplants that would fit that car much better than a Viper V-10. That engine doesn't even belong in the Viper, if you want my opinion.

It's a Viper V10 and it looks like it's well back of where the original firewall was.
Some rich mook paid large for it anyways. |

I saw his car cross the blocks on tv, it went for $165K or something like that .. it has a viper dash, seats and console, the V10 was blown and they said it was in the 650hp ball park. The trickest part of the hood was that it was on actuators or some sort of hydrolic supports b/c the driver hit a switch and the hood went down on it's own perfectly.

Well, granted I've never been in the seat behind one, but all reports I've heard from people who have state the the Viper V10 suffers from major drivability issues, just like the car it comes out of. It's a beautiful engine for going fast, but suffers horribly in any other driving conditions. A Dodge Viper is an $85 000 replacement penis. I'll pass, thanks. |
You can find out all about it at http://www.timemachinesinc.com/sixshooter.htm
While the craftsmenship is great its a shame to destroy an old school muscle car like that |
Well now thats a sweet looking car, but I would have gone with a blowin 6.1 Hemi the old viper engine are gutless.

just some more pics.
(the one Tech posted didn't work for me) http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_01.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_02.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_03.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_04.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_05.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/Cuba_06.jpg |
I saw that one for sale on the net for like $395,000 or something
|
That is a sweeeeeeeet ride.
|
I saw another cuda a couple years ago with a viper v-10, very nice cars.
|
I'd rather just wait for the new Challenger in that case. The inside looks like a hack job. But from the outside it looks great.
At SEMA I did see a Cuda with a 6.7 Hemi. I'd go with that instead. |
