World in sepia
"We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine and the machine is bleeding to death" was what he said, standing on the ledge on top of the building, quoting godspeed. It was a beautiful sunset, with a mild breeze and a fiery sun. The building looked like women and men standing in blocks of ice, like some kind of cryoexperiment gone bad. The blocks reeked and my nostrils filled with the smell of sour milk. I wasn't really looking for anything yet he stood there, almost motionless, like a statue of some kind, waiting.
Timing the jump. The apartment below started playing the song he had quoted and he held his arms out in karate kid style with a passion. His lumberjack shirt wavered in the wind and he grinned and he said 'i'm kurt now' and I grinned aswell as it seemed like something I should do. He smiled and said 'you met me at a very strange moment in my life. if we met earlier, everything would have been different.' I didn't struggle with what he said, I knew it was right. It was right for the time being, this time around with suicide written on his face on the top of a building, a block, something cold, a dead body in which we live in. He read my mind saying 'the taxidermists must have been busy when they made the city. all these people that have died here, portrayed and modelled into buildings with no feel nor emotions.' It hit me like things hit me when I'm drunk or on any other drug. We are living in a machine and it's dying. This mammoth. Democracy. Freedom. Liberty. All the fine words written down centuries ago which have evaporated into dust. The hollowness of this world comes from the governing bodies. They emit signals of nothing when they speak to the nation about nothing substantial and when they campaign and everything you hear is what's been said for the past sixty years. If a the tree falls and noone hears it, has it fallen? If a society falls and everyone's too busy to sit infront of the television, has it fallen? Or will everything resume the next day? There is no reason to live he says. Not for me. I'm uneducated and I want the world now and not after a masters degree. I want to sail the seven seas now. You're probably right I say seeing as he probably is right. All new frontiers demand something else than courage. Information. Condense information accumulated over years. Tim Leary said that the new frontier is in our minds. Someone else said that Tim Leary was wrong because there were no trophies to bring out from a headtrip. No glamour. No fame. What will happen when every dog has its' day but it's all in the dog's head? -- Critsize it please. Harsh words if you want to but please say a reason or something along those lines. To be continued...

Hmm I have no real critique actually. I found it to be a good read. As far as the actual writing goes it's well written. Good imagery and metaphorical content. Only critism I think one might have is if they don't agree with the views or beliefs addressed in this piece. I'm not in that catagory though don't worry. Quite bright really.
