Gasoline prices have gone crazy high: $20 and $25 a gallon
if you can find it. Many men have converted their cars to
burn natural gas or removed their gasoline engines and have
installed diesel engines and fill their tanks with peanut oil,
soy bean oil or anything that will burn. Bio-Diesel fuel is
sold in a few gas stations but sells for almost the same as
the quickly vanashing gasoline. Many cars have machine
guns or shotguns mounted in the windshields and 1/4 inch
thick steel plate bolted all over the car for protection.

We hear on the radio sometimes when a news program is
broadcast that things are worse in Europe where the cars
have long since stopped running. Some German scientists
and Japanese designers have tried to make gasoline from
garbage,which most cities have an abundance of,since the
garbage pickup stopped several months ago. Sometimes I
see a lone airplane fly over,wondering where they found the
gasoline to fill the tanks.

Funny how the whole world seemed to run and exist with
crude OIL as the main power source. There are wind power
machines, solar energy and atomic power plants but many
sit idle or have been locked up because they have worn out
parts and have few workers to run them. Sometimes I hear
about gangs of men fighting other gangs for their supplies
of food , bio-diesel fuel and clean drinking water. I remember
looking at city lights at night but most cities are dark now.

I'm going to put everything I own into my small pickup and
head for Colorado. I'll try to become a farmer or rancher or
something or maybe join a group.
