Negative Utopia
Everyone reads the Negative Utopia books in high school. 1984, Brave New World, etc. Warnings about the future, blah, blah, blah.
Having re-read The Handmaid's Tale recently, I was put in mind of the current waves of fundamentalism, both in Islam and Evangelical Christianity. The question: Which is more likely/which are we closest to - Fascism or Theocracy? Or is it both? |

The formal term is dystopia. I think the best one I have read is "We" by Eugene Zamiatin (translated from Russian). /end threadjack |
The literature forum is for people to post up their own works. I think you have this board confused with the Entertainment Board. That is where posts like this go. It might even fit in over in Tilted Philosophy as well.

head hung in shame
Sorry about that. I've always thought of literature as literature, and TV, movies, etc., as entertainment. Rebuke accepted.

Again since you are discussing what others views are in relation to the stories you may also be able to post this in titled philosophy as the question lays ground for such things.
