Spenserian sonnet form
"Love grants all but peace of mind to most"
by Meliesa Love grants all but peace of mind to most. Not we, who fret and worry from misuse; The last to raise our glasses in a toast For sake of love we fear is but a ruse. For some, like me, grown wary from abuse, Befuddled by the simplest words of care, Will huddle, hiding, lest we dare accuse Our weakling hearts of laying our souls bare. While lofty eyes are blided by the glare Of glamour maquerading as true love, The jaded eye beholds a gem so rare, Ignored by fools who sets their sights above. Romantics chase the clouds in search of bliss While cynics filter love through caution's kiss. |
