At a strange hour

4:35 am, mountain standard time.

We were friends then.

It was February 17th, 1998.

You didn't know it was my parent's anniversary.

I didn't know what was about to happen.

It's been 6 years now.

I don't regret what I did.

I only regret that it didn't last.

And now we're friends again.

Except that I can't be your friend anymore.

Not when I gave you everything.

And you gave it back.

I've been trying to get back there.

Since 2001 when you left.

And you keep coming back.

At a strange hour.

In a differen't time zone.

On a differen't day.

Once I hoped we would cross paths.

At the right time, when all the planets aligned.

Like our initials in the sky that night.
