A letter to my daughters
I was on a plane coming home about a week ago. It caught on fire in the air over Lake Ontario. I was never so terrified in my life. Not so much because I was afraid to die, but because I was afraid I would never see you again. You see, being your daddy means more to me than life itself. If I had to die to save either of you I would glady do it. But to die without the chance to see your faces or hug you again would be awful.
As the plane was being turned around all I could think of was watching the two of you sleeping, so peaceful, so quiet and safe. Things I would miss the most would be tucking you in at night and having you run to me when I come home while you yell, "Daddy's home! Daddy's home!" There's nothing better than a hero's welcome every single day. I never truly appreciated what I have in the two of you until that moment. I never truly realized what impact the two of you have in my life. I thought I did, but no. You're both very young right now and wouldn't understand this if it were read to you, but I need to share it with everyone. You two are my everything. I love you. -Daddy |
That was really touching. Your daughters are very lucky to have such a loving father.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. You made me cry my friend. There is going to come a day when that letter is the most precious possession those girls have. Make them each a copy and laminate it so they can pull it out and hold it near their heart as often as they want without the worry of ruining it.
As for me, I am glad you are safe. ;) |
Thank you both very much.
