Tilted Quotes

I thought this would be the best place for this thread. I've always wanted a place for Tilted quotes, so I thought I'd make one. Post 'em all here! Inspirational, cool, or completely random. I'll start off with a few.

"I am a hunter of peace, seeking the elusive mayfly known as love." -Vash the Stampede (Trigun)

"You are not what you own. You are not the contents of your wallet. You are not the car you drive. You are not your fucking khakis." -Tyler Durden (Fight Club)

"I am an ace gunman whose bullets never miss their target, especially when it's the heart of a beautiful lady." -Vash the Stampede (Trigun)

"I am the light of the universe. I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am truth. I am justice. Ally to good! Nightmare to you!" -Goku (DBZ)

"Just a monkey." -Frieza (DBZ)

"The invisible spider god will smite us all! Noone is safe! All is doomed!" -Fighter (www.nuklearpower.com)

"If you don't know why my knife's there, you haven't been paying attention." -Black Mage (www.nuklearpower.com)

"It's STABBIN' TIME!" -Black Mage (www.nuklearpower.com)

"Because it seemed excessively cruel." -Black Mage (guess)

"Mankind is nothing like God. Not only do we have limited powers, but sometimes we're driven to become the devil himself." -Nicolas D. Wolfwood (Trigun)

"You can't stand in the fire and not be consumed." -Blind Chick (X)

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

- Julius Caesar

"I don't know, what words I can say.
The wind has a way, to talk to me.
Flowers sing, a silent lullaby.
I pray for reply.
I'm ready.

Quiet day, calms me.
Oh serenity.
Someone please, tell me, ohhhhh what is it they say.
Maybe I will know one day.

I don't know, what words I can say.
The wind has a way, to talk to me.
Flowers sing, a silent lullaby.
I pray for reply.
I'm ready." -Melphina's Song (Outlaw Star)

Old woman flies into the air and punches teenage boy to the ground.

'You need to search your heart and find something worth fighting for.'

'I understand, but what is there that's worth fighting for?' "

Hehe i love trigun.

'“I knew a man who lived in the Vatican,” I quipped, hoping to regain myself, “And he told me it was a square mile of solid Soho. Couldn’t turn around without bumping into a ho. Jeej! You up for that, Popy? Take me round one day, eh?”
He made as if to launch himself at me. I made one last desperate attempt at recovery.
“Shit!” I blasphemed, “God! Jehovah! How could I make such a mistake? Phew Jesus Christ of bloody Nazereth! I didn’t mean Vatican, dude, sorry. My Lucifer’s mother in law!! I meant, er, oh bloody Bethlehem! Ah, shit, no er, Hosbourgh. Is what I meant.”

Nobody really cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy.

Love can erase an awful past.

Love is the immortal flow of energy that nourishes, extends, & preserves, it's eternal goal is life.

As long as there are sovereign nations wielding gret power there will always be war. - Einstein

It is good that war is so terrible. We should not grow fond of it.

There is a peace that can only be found on the other side of war.

Here are some of mine:

-Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. - Nietzsche

-"In individuals stupidity is rare, but in large groups it is rule" - Nietzsche

"Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness."
-Chinese Proverb

"A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject."
-Winston Churchill

Some more:

"My wife cooked a chicken omelette...the chicken was inside the egg! It was a profound experience."-unkown

"Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but he is a thinking reed. The entire universe need not arm itself to crush him. A vapor, a drop of water suffices to kill him. But, if the universe were to crush him, man would still be more noble than that which killed him, because he knows that he dies and the advantage which the universe has over him, the universe knows nothing of this.
All our dignity then, consists in thought. By it we must elevate ourselves, and not by space and time which we cannot fill. Let us endavour then, to think well; this is the principle of morality." ?Blaise Pascal

"Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return."
Colin Powell, when asked by Archbishop of Canterbury if the war with Iraq was about "empire building."

"I tried to find him on the Christian Cross, but He was not there;
I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagodas,
but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.
I searched on the mountains and in the valleys
but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him.
I went to the Caaba in Mecca, but He was not there either.
I questioned the scholars and philosophers, but He was beyond their understanding.
I then looked into my heart and it was there where He dwelled that I saw Him;
He was nowhere else to be found." Jelaluddin Rumi

"I would love to believe that when I die
I will live again, that some thinking,
feeling, remembering part of me will continue.
But as much as I want to believe that and despite the
ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that
assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest
that it is more than wishful thinking." -- Carl Sagan

People will then often say ?But surely it?s better to remain an Agnostic just in case?? This, to me, suggests such a level of silliness and muddle that I usually edge out of the conversation rather than get sucked into it. (If it turns out that I?ve been wrong all along, and there is in fact a god, and if it further turned out that this kind of legalistic, cross-your-fingers-behind-your-back, Clintonian hair-splitting impressed him, then I think I would chose not to worship him anyway.)?Douglas Adams

Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. - Gandalf

It's that dawning moment of comprehension that I live for.
-- Calvin

"We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?" asked Piglet.
"Even longer," Pooh answered.

"We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare
and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all.
It's the best deal man has ever made"
- M. Facklam

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than
you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods,
you will understand why I dismiss yours."
-Stephen Roberts

?Life?s just a show, keep them laughing as you go. Just remember that the last laugh is on you.? --Eric Idel
