Poem from a lovesick college dork - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I'm meeting this girl next week from work who I really like. I haven't seen her in several months, since I started college. Since I'll be going home on friday for the weekend, we're going to be going out. Thing is, I'm not sure if it's a date or not. She's dropped several hints, but I have no idea what she's thinking. Since it's been driving me crazy, I decided to write a poem about it. Hope you enjoy.

Mysterious Date

And then my heart got stolen
I can’t believe you did it,
Took the pieces that were broken
Then went ahead and fixed it.

Now I’m left here to ponder
What next move I should make.
Do you want to go on there
Or have I just made a mistake?

I don’t know what to do
Should I try to hold your hand?
Should I try to kiss you too,
Or are we just going to be friends?

Forgive me for being shy
But I don’t know why you’re here
You know I’m a nice guy
But is your heart racing while I’m near?

I guess I’ll just have to discover
All these reasons for myself
But after the truth is uncovered
I hope it all turns out well.

Thanks. I see her in two days (well, technically tomorrow, but it's still thursday in my head), and I'm nervous as all hell. The suspense is killing me!

Heh, thanks everyone. I'll give an update when it happens. Just 24 more hours, now. By this time tomorrow, she'll already be in my car. Ahh!

Alright, I just got home and I'm winding down with a beer, so I'm more than happy to share the story. As it is, I'm still not exactly sure what was on her mind, but it all went well. I picked her up from work, and we immediately went to Blockbuster to get a video. She explained to me that she was way too tired for dinner, and it was pretty obvious she was telling the truth. She looked tired as soon as she came in my view. When we got to her place, she was still really tired. While we watched the movie, she put a pillow down next to my lap and laid down right next to me. She'd be a little playful every now and then and poke me, but for the most part, she was pretty subdued. I treated her well by stroking her hair and shoulder, but that was mostly the extent of our contact. There was one moment that I really felt like kissing her when our eyes locked, but I was way too nervous for anything like that. At the end of the night, we hugged and I kissed her on the forehead, and we agreed to do something like that again the next time I come back from college (I leave tomorrow, and come back at thanksgiving). Although nothing was really answered, it would be an excellent start to a long term relationship, should things go that way. If that's the case, it's probably best to go slow anyway. All and all, I'm very satisfied and thrilled with the experience. Oh boy, I have the goosebumps.
