The unrequited Muse.. Or, why cant I start writing already
 

Okay, I know this is the place to post work, gems of creative prose poetry. I have oft been here to read what people have given up to the masses to be enjoyed..

My post however, is of a less sultry nature. I cant write.. Or rather I cant get started. Any of you out there ever have the feeling that there is a story fully grown in you? You havent put it down, but sometimes the dialog slips out when you're thinking about something else, you feel this unbearable guilt for not starting, yet it has grown so much in your mind and heart that you dont know where to start?

Yeah, thats me right now..

Any help you guys can offer? (Besides the obliguatory "start writing".. Even though the bluntness of that statement and the simple logic it has, It hasnt worked so far.

Thats me ranting.. Nothing creative to it.. well, maybe in the use of the word sultry ;)

Okay, So maybe that was all I needed to kick myself in the ass. I started writing, and although Im sure its crap, its getting out.. I have the first draft of the prolog written (look for a post called darkened skies).. What I need is a buddy (ahh, how cute).. I need someone who will poke and prod me to write, encourage me to do so, and be willing to not only read what I have written, but tell me when its crap.. The reason I want this is obvious, its always easier to get something done when you have someone else pushing you along, it works with writing just as well as it does with fitness.. I would like this person to also be writing (although not nessesarily in the same genre, though it would be nice if they were complimentary). That way I can help out someone in the same way.. If I dont get anyone, I'll just post every once and awhile to here and let the masses comment (but in my experience posts are easily lost or buried here).. Thanks for the sounding board (Isnt midnight shift great? I get to post all I want and everyone is asleep *tee hee)

i'll poke you. You have to write some more though.

I do indeed... I have more then whats in the prologue, but I was wary to post it all here because of the silence I get when I post stuff ;)

What i do if i have the ideas but not the clarity to set them to paper/screen, is a stream of consciousness. then i just let my mind wonder, get the ideas down, clarify later. Hope thats useful.

Actually that is usefull, and Its been suggested by some close friends.. The problem is that I look to much as Im writing, and I see things like spelling, grammer (damn the Office underlining), or I read off dialog in my head and it just sounds.. wrong..
