with love
not having to worry
about anything I've done,
but when my pain erupts
it burns everything in my view
I died the day
that I lost you

You were the one to make me feel.
when you saw my smile
your wounds would all heal,
you said I smelled like sweet sunshine
so I made you mine

only love inspires me to love myself
someone to show me what I'm worth
now she's gone and won't ever come back
and like a heart attack
that lasts all day long
my soul is gone

when I was scared
you were at my side
and I'd hold you
when you cried,
I've been there for you
through so many tough times
now that you've gone away
I'm paying...
for all my crimes

Yes, I'm the one who fell out
out of my love and into greed
thinking I'd find someone better
more up to the task
it's been almost one year
and I've lost my grasp
on my heart

I scream unto the heavens
"why do you deny me this?"
a little voice inside me says
"where is your patience?"

that's a trait of the strong
and I'm so weak
too hurt and feeble to cry
I see her from time to time
and I want to speak

but there's nothing
I could ever say
to make the pain go away.
