love - for my g/f and our 6 month

As the days pass by
I look into your eyes
I only grow fonder
I will not wander
All of the great times
Are one on a kind
And memories we share
Will always be there
I know our love will not depart
Because you have my heart

just thought id share...
i wrote it for my g/f for our 6 month

Don't get me wrong. I mean no offense, but -

Love poems are very hard to write. We walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare, no? Have you ever read his Sonnet 18?

The emotion is wonderful, and always seems fresh to the writer; but the problem is it's all been said before. And almost invariably, said much better.

Again, though, I mean no offense. I write poems much like this myself. :)

Oh, and good luck with that girlfriend of yours....

Unlike D.S., I do not believe we walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare, but in our own footsteps, as it should be.

Thank you for walking us through a little piece of you.
Any time we pen our emotions and place them out there for the world to see, we show our vulerabilities. I tip my hat to you to having the courage and I hope you share more. :D

My point was that he was "walking us through" a little piece of what many many people have already gone through.

And if we write love poems, then yes, we do walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare. To say otherwise is rather illogical. This is not a bad thing.

I didn't dislike the poem. And I do hope we all try and do the best we can. That's why the constructive criticism.

It is beautiful and I am sure that your girlfriend loved it. It is true that many love poems have been written before, but the best ones always come from the ones you love and that love you.
