Old Poem
Hi TFP folk,
I was lucky enough to find a few old posts of poems I wrote that I do not have hard-copies of anymore. Thank you for reading. Here's a poem I wrote that I wrote in 2004 (vaguely.) It eventually got published and won me a little money from a contest: "In The beginning, there was noise" I once saw my ancestors In a dream They were the mad people Who danced till the bonfires died And the world was ash They were drummers who beat rhythm on animal skins And their own children And played And played Until the gray earth grew soft and red And they became workers in the mill Hammering on the manmade Things which couldn't grow but still increased And black-lunged miners who swung the beat into mountain sides And swung And swung Till the land was hollow
