Skip to minute 2:00 exactly to see the angel Tyrael from Diablo2. I've always *loved* this version of an angel but can never think of how to describe it in words. I always end up with "tentacle wings" lol which, if you haven't seen Tyrael, totally paints the wrong picture in your mind.

I would describe them as ribbon wings as well. They don't have the organicness of tentacles, and they're usually shown as being flat.

I'd go with "prehensile tail wings" but that's just me.

"Grasping ribbon of light wings" is probably more appealing.

Idyllic

Filaments of light emanated from his back like lightening from the heavens, each strand radiating with energy as they seemed able to lift his strong and powerful body.

Together these strings of light created what appeared to be wings, glowing so brightly as to make me believe they must be tangible, their ethereal visage breathtaking to behold.

In awe, I watched his wings move, like a million straightened halos, cohesive one moment, and yet a second later, seemingly like fingers, reaching out and striking, as though each ray of light were its own deliverer of justice.
