A song I wrote for my dad
First off, wow it's been awhile since I've posted anything here. How has everyone been? My dad passed away last Monday at the age of 62. He suffered from cardiomyopathy and diabetes, and died in his sleep. He woke me up for work in the morning, seemed fine, but my brother found him when I was at work. I've never written a full song until now, and I dedicate my first song to my dad because I love and miss him very much. Sorry I don't have a recording of it but I don't have the resources to produce a recording.
Daddy I still can't believe that you're not here I've got to get a grip You'll always be right here in my heart You'll always be in my soul --break I'll think of the times that we shared I know that you were there Even when we fought I know you cared With all the love you shared --break I don't want to let you go You're my daddy I'll live just to make you proud You'll see I don't want to let you go You're my daddy I want you to know You'll always be with me --no break I can not hide the tears I'm cryin' You are my everything Every breath I take Time passes me by And I'll always think of you --break I don't want to let you go You're my daddy You didn't have to die so young Don't you see? I dont want to let you go You're my daddy Your endless love and care Will always be with me --break Your love will always be with me
