In This World Of Nonsense And Torment

I am being devoured by myself
I yearn for freedom but have nowhere to go
I feel nothing and everything
The darkness scares me but keeps me safe

The unknown creeps toward me ready to pounce
Pain follows me closer than my shadow
Evil scurries through the alley
My future lurks around the corner

What is my future, if I even have one
What do I feel, how do I feel, if I feel
What do I have to show for my life
Am I scared of everything or just myself
Is this all I am
What am I missing
Why am I here
What is all this

I am scared so I cry
I have nothing to wipe my tears

In this world of nonsense and torment
