"hi", he said as he waved and smiled. His soft green eyes sparkled in the early evening twilight, giving a show of what the stars might look like behind the forboding rainclouds. She looked at him briefly, tossed a careless smile back and looked shyly at the ground. A passing encounter or the bloom of a relationship, he wondered. He wrestled with the thought that it didn't matter, it couldn't. He belonged to someone else. His mind travelled a thousand miles and back in half of a second. He struggled and fought for the answer, but nothing came. In that moment she was gone. He stood there and watched as his heart plummeted to the ground and shattered into thousands of tiny shards. A random encounter destroyed his heart. He had known the answer, but now she was gone forever.

Love is a multi threaded fabric.
The Threads don't break all at once.
And they regrow, albeit slow.
Worry not about days gone by, but live for today.
And wear a little smirk, about what might have been.
