Contact Lense Removal (when they're stuck way back)

I'm calling my eye doctor tomorrow, but am posting here to hopefully get a quicker answer to my question. This is really freaking me out.

The other day, I was sitting in front of my computer and my contact lense in my right eye started feeling very dry. I started blinking a lot and made my way to the bathroom to take it out. When I looked in the mirror, I found that my contact lense was no longer on my eye. I first thought maybe I blinked it out, so I went on all fours and searched every inch of floor from my computer to the bathroom. Nothing!

So now I suspect it's in my eye somewhere. I've heard of this sort of thing happening to other people and I think I might be one of them. I've checked under my eyelid and have not seen anything, but I really do suspect my contact is hidden somehwhere deeper in my eye.

Anyone know how I can take this bugger out? It's really worrying me.

P.S. Merry Christmas to all. :)

The couple of times this happened to me, it hurt like HELL, and after kind of pulling my lid back and all the watering that was going on, it would make its way back down to my iris and I could remove it. If it's been there a long time though...I don't know if that would work.

When my contact has folded up and went up onto the top of my eye under my eyelid, it hurt so bad I could barely open my eye at all. Like Medusa said, with all the watering that was going on it always slid back down and I could then remove it. If you have no pain at all then it may have fallen out. Those contacts can be so hard to find when they are on the floor!

I have super soft contacts that also have a special new comfort features (according to my eye doctor). I've heard that it is possible to not even feel it if they are stuck in my lids because they are so soft.

I don't get pain, but when my disposables are nearing the end of their life, they'll sometimes slip up under the eyelid due to being thinner than normal. I find that I'm able to locate them by feeling them out with my eye (I move my eye around and note where the discomfort is) and then it's just a matter of pulling my eyelid up and very gently (with lean hands) nudging the lens back into place, where I can remove it properly.

Although uncomfortable, this is nothing to fear. The lens will not stick there forever and it can't slip behind your eye or anything. For lack of anything else, it will eventually come out on it's own.

I used to have this if I forgot to take them out before sleeping. I can't wear them over night regardless of what type the contacts are.

One thing you can try, if you're for certain that it's still in your eye, take your contact solution, Visine or something like to moist your eye with. Use it as a wash to wet all around good. I used to have my boyfriend drip the solution across my eye while I massaged the eyelid then it slide back down to get ahold of. Usually it was folded but most times not.

They can't actually slip behind your eyes, as there's a membrane preventing such things not too far inside the eye socket. My lenses were thick as hell, what with me being half-blind, so when they crept up somewhere I knew exactly where they were... Flushing the eye with lens solution is a good idea to get it unstuck if it's still there, if you have a reoccuring problem with the eyes drying up there should be special eye drops you can use to moisten the eyes, it's a lot easier than using the big bottle.

This happens to me sometimes when I happen to rub my eyes...and perhaps when I put one in backwards. Anyway, it is usually above my eye and I can push around on top of my eyelid and push it down. It might fall out or just fall back into place. Whichever, clean it in your solution before wearing ti again!

Happened to me twice, but thankfullY I got them out in a couple of minutes. I just dumped that lense, but then again I have bi-weekly then I tend to wear a month+ straight without ever taking them out.
