I want a new car, and I have no credit.
I'm 26 years old, and have managed to avoid getting almost any type of credit my entire life. The last 2 times I tried to get a credit card, I was told I couldn't get a card because my credit was to "new". This never really bothered me because I didn't need a credit card and I went on my merry way.
But now, I've got a pretty good steady job (U.S. Coast Guard), and it would be nice to have a car to get to and from work. I would really like a Honda Civic. But I'm wondering if it is even worth my while to try to get a car with almost no credit. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips of advice. |
go to your bank and open a credit card account. They'll usually give you one with a 4000 dollar or so limit straight off. Then start charging stuff to it and pay it off fully EVERY month. Do that for awhile and you'll establish your credit.

why don't you go to a car dealership and fill out the forms for financing and see what happens?
you'll at least know if you're qualifed right now... if not, then follow shakran's advice |
