Spring break suggestions
I know this is just a bit early to be asking, but...
My girlfriend and I are planning our spring break getaway and I wanted some advice on where we should go. We want to travel to a warm, crowd-free seaside resort on an island in the Carribean. Mostly, we want a severe lack of other college students getting naked and drunk, warm ocean water, and lots of sun. For those you you who know the Carribean well, which islands would you recommend, and which resorts/hotels on those islands? Thank you for your input!

if price isn't a major object... Petit St Vincent in the Grenadines is absolutely gorgeous.. .I was there a few years ago for a friends wedding and was blown away by the beauty of the place... I just wish i spent longer than 5 days, and 3 of them were dealing with wedding crap...
I've never been myself, but I have heard wonderful things about St Barth's as well.

It isn't the Caribbean but Tulum, Mexico is also quite nice. You can get open air huts right on the beach for very reasonable amounts of $$$. Friends have gone and they said that some of the resorts are adult only (i.e. no little kids).
Turks and Caicos has some very exclusive resorts that are out of the price range of most college kids.

Very good suggestions, but they would be a little bit of a stretch for my budget: maybe something for $300-$500 a night, double occupancy?

Does that include airfare and meals? or is that additional?
So are you basically looking to spend about 1500 - 2000 inclusive?

Just for grins, while listening to people drone on on a conference call - -I went to www.unitedvacations.com - -which usually has a lot of pretty decent packages
Flying you out of Boston (Not sure in Maine you are, but Bangor is too much of a regional airport to go anywhere) you can go to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (not direct - it's boston to chicago to the DR) in mid-march their prices which include air/hotel and some are all inclusive with meals go anywhere from 2100 to 2800 - depending on the hotel... There's a ton of hotels to choose from, and I've heard nothing but good things about the DR... UnitedVacations.com (American has the same type of thing - I"m honestly not plugging them) based on your departure airport has a bunch of places that they will fly to...

Check out the Bahamas. Not Nassau, but North Euluthrea (I butchered that spelling). Beautiful pink sand beaches, inexpensive area, friendly locals, but I'm not sure about the price of the resort. When I stayed in Nassau last Spring Break, we paid $100 a night for a nice hotel room, but split amongst 3 people ($33 a night per person) . Granted, it was full of Spring Breakers, but it was cheap. That other island should be inexpensive but airfare there won't be. The plane is a small one in so it's pretty expensive.
