Hotels around LAX
Looks like I'll have an overnight layover in LA when I come home.
Looking for suggestions on cheap decent hotels near LAX. any suggestions? just need a place to rest my tired head, don't care about amenities. |
I know there's a Radisson right at the airport - or only ablock a way via courtesy shuttle.. Radissons are a little overpriced but you know what you get with them... There's also a Sheraton (Four Points I think) that's a little futher away that also has a courtesy shuttle to get you there...
I'm pretty sure that there's a Best Western/Holiday Inn Express and a few of the other less expensive no muss chains -- I just can't vouch for staying in them... Practically every chain is going to have some representation at the airport - Marriott, Crowne Plaze, etc... it all comes down to when you are coming in and what you wanted to spend... |
Alright, thanks.
Just wondering, some cities have lots of hotels around the airport, others have very few. I'll probably go for the cheaper one personally. I could always sleep in the airport concourse as well I suppose:) coming in after 10pm unfortunetly, hence I can't catch a connecting flight till the next day. |
You'll save alot of $$$$ sleeping in the airport. More so over a Holiday weekend
|
But money is only money:) plus a hotel bed is more comfortable, with less of a chance of theft:)
anyone have any experiences sleeping in an airport? |

I've slept in an airport once or twice... not fun in the slightest. The key is to know where the public showers are.
If you can afford it... get the hotel room. You get a bed and some TV and more importantly, a bar. If you have a little more time in LAX (and more money) you should take a taxi to Santa Monica... nice hotels, good shopping and the beach. It's about 30 to 40 minutes by taxi from LAX. Otherwise, definately there are tons of airport hotels in shuttle distance from LAX. |
I had to spend the night in the Frankfurt airport once, it was one of the worst experiences.
Apparently in Europe, when signs are posted saying, "Limited Smoking", it means limited to one cigarette at a time, lol. The air inside was literally a blue haze. For me with asthma, not a good thing. Plus with the concerns about theft and all... Anyways, for LAX, inquire at the hotel of your choice regarding how often the shuttles make the trip to the airport. It's not fun to finally land, get your stuff, and stand at the curb for what seems like forever. Have a fun trip, though! |
