Help me gain weight!

Hey guys,
I'm 19 and I am going to Cancun in 3 weeks for vacation. I'm about 5'9 and weigh 150 pounds. I have a fast metabolism, so gaining weight has always been a problem for me. I'm looking to gain about ~10 pounds. My friends always tell me I look fine, but to me, I need to be a little bit bigger. I don't want to gain jiggly fat, but probably just bulk up on the upper part of my body. I play sports a lot, so my legs are already pretty big. So right now I'm guessing the best way to bulk up is gain muscle and have a balanced diet. I have a few question for gaining some muscles at the gym:

I read less reps, and more weight will help you bulk up. Will the pyramid scheme work on this as well? I used to do 10-8-6-8-10 reps on one machine, with an addition of 5 pounds up to the middle set, then reduce 5 pounds each set down to the last set. Right now, I am doing 3 sets of 10 reps with an additional 5 pounds each set. Which should I do? The pyramid or 3 sets?

Also for my diet, I never have any idea on what to eat everyday, so I just eat random things during lunch and dinner. Like a bunch of hotdogs for lunch, and maybe steak/salmon for dinner o_O. It's summer so I always sleep past breakfast :/. Should I try to eat atleast 5-6 times a day? Like maybe sandwhiches here and there?

Kinda been answered there before.

Lots of the stuff I've been reading lately says optimum strength training occurs at 3-5 reps and 2 sets, I don't think two sets is enough, nor less than 4 reps, I just don't feel like I've done anything if I go less. So, I go three sets of four on my bigger lifts (bench, squat, ect) and three sets of 6 on machines, which I try to avoid like the plague, but sometimes you just gotta use em. I've been making consistent gains in weight and strength for about 4 months now. This is what works for me, you very probably are different. If your just doing this for your trip to cancun I doubt three weeks is going to give you any noticable difference.

EDIT - I'm going to pretend I didn't just waste my time typing that whole thing out when that other thread gives you your answer and says everything I just did and then some. The only thing I'm going to add to what's there is that you are not gaining ten pounds of muscle in three weeks and would probably be pretty hard pressed to even put on ten pounds of fat in that time. Just go to Cancun , enjoy yourself and relax. A vacation is about having a good time, not worrying about how you look to all the beach babes.

Without having to go to the other thread, here is my two cents. I have found that if I do heavy weight with reps like 12-8-6-4, this helps with bulking up. Also, eat about 50% more calories than you do now. Don't fill up on junk that has a lot of calories, but instead eat a lot of protien and balance that with some good carbs.

Don't play with food and eating. It's very easy to turn the balance and to become a overweight person. If you have problems go first to see a doctor specialized in weight issues
