A girl, and his name is Mittens, like the link says!

He has six toes on his front feet, and he is a Maine Coon mix. Only 9 weeks old from the SPCA. Just got him yesterday!

I love Maine Coons!

We call our two cats "Slippers" and "Mittens" when they're misbehaving. The one is very soft and would make great slippers. The other's not quite big enough for slippers, but would make a great pair of mittens.

ratbastid, we call him Mittens because she looks like he has a human's opposable thumbs, and the fur makes it just look as soft as a pair of mittens.

Squishor, my favourite is the last one where she and nwlinkvxd are both just relaxing and staring at the camera. It was a perfectly timed photo.

mal, very true. Luckily, she is only really going to live in another location with Kevin and his stinky boy roommates. Then I'll move in. So there won't be any potted plants like nwlinkvxd's parents's house has.

Hahaha, yes, she is a cutie. I was SO protective of her last night and made sure she wasn't hurting herself in the new bedroom in the dark. I really like the little picture of her when she's looking up from the blue food bowl. She looks fluffy and fiesty in that one. Her furry breast is my favourite physical thing about her, besides her soft little feet!

(You can tell I love her too!)

Look up the Hemmingway Cats in Key West, Florida. The all have six toes and are the original bloodline from when Hemmingway was there. Very interesting stuff...

Speaking of new babies, a mamma cat (who's stray) had a litter in our laundry room last night. I think we're going to keep her after we adopt out all 4 of her babies.

Aw, isn't that cute? nwlinkvxd and I were at Petco, and there was a lady next to us who had a little one-day-old kitten. She said that someone just dropped the kitten on her doorstep. Poor little baby.

Aw, poor baby kitten that’s so sad. They really need their mommies at that age or there's a chance of them growing up feral. Cats are very social creatures, and they need that bonding time.
