He's a real cutie. Is it a he? What's his/her name?

A girl, and his name is Mittens, like the link says! :) He has six toes on his front feet, and he is a Maine Coon mix. Only 9 weeks old from the SPCA. Just got him yesterday!

I love Maine Coons!

We call our two cats "Slippers" and "Mittens" when they're misbehaving. The one is very soft and would make great slippers. The other's not quite big enough for slippers, but would make a great pair of mittens. :thumbsup:

ratbastid, we call him Mittens because she looks like he has a human's opposable thumbs, and the fur makes it just look as soft as a pair of mittens.

Alright, now that I can see it... that cat is way too damn cute.

Hell, now I'm questioning my inherent "dog-person"ality again...

mal, very true. Luckily, she is only really going to live in another location with Kevin and his stinky boy roommates. Then I'll move in. So there won't be any potted plants like nwlinkvxd's parents's house has.

Yes, very true, it is a nice shot but I didn't want to post that one because...well, no offense but I'm just more interested in your kitten than I am in your boy. Damn that just sounds wrong somehow though.

Hahaha, yes, she is a cutie. I was SO protective of her last night and made sure she wasn't hurting herself in the new bedroom in the dark. I really like the little picture of her when she's looking up from the blue food bowl. She looks fluffy and fiesty in that one. Her furry breast is my favourite physical thing about her, besides her soft little feet! :)

(You can tell I love her too!)

Look up the Hemmingway Cats in Key West, Florida. The all have six toes and are the original bloodline from when Hemmingway was there. Very interesting stuff...

kittens are great, bf and I adopted one just before last xmas.

..and bonus on the 6 toes! I have a 6-toed cat (who is living at my mom's in the US).

AHHHH!@!! That kitten is way too cute. It makes me want to get a cat instead of a dog! Now I have to go find puppy pictures to remind me that I like dogs more. :)

Speaking of new babies, a mamma cat (who's stray) had a litter in our laundry room last night. I think we're going to keep her after we adopt out all 4 of her babies.

Aw, isn't that cute? nwlinkvxd and I were at Petco, and there was a lady next to us who had a little one-day-old kitten. She said that someone just dropped the kitten on her doorstep. Poor little baby.

Aw, poor baby kitten that’s so sad. They really need their mommies at that age or there's a chance of them growing up feral. Cats are very social creatures, and they need that bonding time.

Little kittens are the best - so cute and fun to play with. Now the trick is to treat her like a dog so she develops a personality... ;)

Maine Coons are actually known for their dog-like personality. And really, I already notice that she has some of those qualities. She's VERY devoted to us (we left for an hour, and when we got back she came trotting up to us meowing and jumped up) and loves to sleep with us. She's extremely playful, and sweet.

For anyone paying attention: The vet and SPCA messed up initially. MITTENS IS A BOY! We had to take him in for a second vet visit because he had an upper respiratory infection (which is now gone), and that's when we found out.

Yay, Biscuit is cute (and what a cute name!) I like to call Mittens "Mr. Sushi Roll" now because that's how he likes to sleep- curled up like a little sushi roll. I just hope my kitty is fluffier than Mr. Biscuit. I like fluffy cats.

He's reached that certain age where his level of cutenes is at maximum. I dare not look at all the pictures or else I'll run out and buy a kitten myself and I don't think Loverboy would appreciate that :|

His sister's name is sushi - she is slightly lighter colour, and a little bit fluffier. They are not even slightly kittens anymore - they are 2 years old. Still very funny to watch when they are playing, and very affectionate.

Actually, both the SPCA and the vet thought he was a boy. Then the vet took another look and said: WHOA! This is a boy cat. Haha.

Mittens is so cute! I like how he's sitting on the top of his castle so proudly. Enjoy the bugger, kittenhood goes by so quickly. When you see your kitty-puss all the time, you don't see how fast they grow up.
My kitty just turned a year old and made her first kill...a mouse in the house! Good kitty, Willow!

sadly, I am not with my kitty-puss all the time. :( I haven't seen him in over two weeks. He is with nwlinkvxd. :(
