Okay guys, this one is just for fun and obviously just personal experiences.
List what you think are some things that

"Have to be done in life" events

For me:

Everyone should at least try to white water raft once in their life.
Kiss someone you don't know
Give a speech

I'm really interested it what you guys have to say.

Hiked to a remote spot in the mountains and just sat listening to the forest and smelling the fresh crisp air.

Pushed yourself beyond what you thought your physical/mental/emotional limits were.

Helped someone with no thought of reward.

Got close enough to a wild animal to touch it, in it's own habitat.

Looked into someone's eyes and realized that you're hopelessly in love with them.

-take an unnesseccary road trip
-go to Africa
-completely devote yourself to making your SO as happy as possible
-realize you only have one time around and make the best of it
-very rarely (but do it anyway) buy yourself something you don't need but want bad

I have done some of these things but not all

Seen a Springstein concert, go to New York & see Mama Mia with my wife for our 10 year anniversary (in August), learn acrobatic flying (slated for this summer when I won't freeze in the Pitts!). Those are things I need to do yet. The most important is to live long enough to see my kids get married, and maybe a grandkid or two.

Things I've done that I really wanted to do: learn to fly a plane, see the country, go to England. Getting a college degree is also on the "like to do" list but will probably never come to pass. I'm about two semesters away from two different degrees.

Eaten a five-course meal with good wines accompanying it.

Learned how to cook a five-course meal and select the wines to accompany it.

Done something truly extravagant for once (ie my family ate brunch at the Plaza Hotel in NYC--once in a lifetime experience).

Okay, I really like this thread so far. I can only think of a few for now, but I'll add more later...

1) Become fluent in at least two languages other than your own, more if possible.

2) Visit a politically unstable place (the U.S. doesn't count), hopefully where you speak the language fluently!

3) Who cares about regrets. Do stuff that you would regret NOT doing.
