black circles under the eyes

I have always seemed to have black circles under my eyes.
Any ideas of how to get rid of emm?
(they do grow bigger when I have less sleep, but even if I've sept lots over a period of months, they never go away)

i'm the same...i read somewhere that vitamin 'e' would help but i haven't tried...

Preparation H can take puffiness away, but I don't think it works on black rings. You might try some kind of under-eye moisturizer, but I don't think they will ever go away completely if you are prone to them all the time, even when you sleep well. Check with your doctor, too. He/she might have some tricks.

Maybe you aren't sleeping as well as you think? I hate getting those they seem to show up randomly on me. Looks like I've been awake 3 days.

I thought Prep H was hormonal and could cause hair growth, might not be the best place to put it if it actually does. I don't know its just something I've heard over the years might be an urban legend or something.

I wouldn't suggest using it a lot, but it's an old trick from Hollywood and modeling agencies. You don't use much. It doesn't cause hair growth... It can't, since all Preparation H is is alum, which shrinks the tissues. Nothing hormonal involved.

If they're genetic, like mine are, there's very little you can do.

LOL ok I stand corrected, just a story from a friend about putting it on her face when she was little because of something her older sibbling told her and now she has some unwanted hair growth and she says that's what its from, guess she's just hairy.

sleep more
change your genetic composition
avoid getting struck in the face

astrahl 02-11-2005 12:56 PM

Oh clavus, you beat me to that one! LOL
BTW, love your avatar.

If you have deeply set eyes, like my aunt, you might have to invest in coverup.

Allergies can cause those dark circles. Are you allergic to anything? Hay fever?

I have developed allergies to just about everything in the air, most recently to dust mites. For about half a year I had no idea what was causing them. Eventually I figured it out, got on antihistamines then immunotherapy and they disappeared.

How about concealer?

munchen 02-11-2005 05:18 PM

i was a major insomniac, i still am one but not as bad. Iused to have the dark circles as well. More sleep is definitly important and the magic cure for me was to get more sun. More sun and sleep seemed to solve my problem

Use fresh cut cucmber slices and place them on your eyes for 15 minutes before bedtime
