Has anyone ever worked for Accenture?

...because they just called me to schedule an appointment for a 'first-round' interview with them on Monday for one of their entry-level consulting positions.

I searched online and read some good and bad things about them, but I'd like to hear about any first hand experiences working with them, or if you know someone who has.

Thanks!

I worked for Accenture in Norway for two years. I can't come up with something bad to say about them - I really liked working there. Nice, knowledgeable people everywhwere. They focus a lot on your career in Accenture, so I had a bunch of courses/trainings in order to reach the next level.

I quit because I wanted to work closer to home when we had kids.

OH - Congratulations, they are "picky" when they are "picking" people - so you should be proud of your self.

I have not worked for them, but I have a friend that does.

Basically, if you are good at what you do you will be fine. My friend went in as a Graduate. He was basically one of 100 graduates. Basically they all worked for the Accenture in various roles. However after two years they offer him a permanent (sp) position. Some were told to go else where. My friend described it as a 100m swim. They place everyone in the pool. Some people can't swim and don't succeed. Some swim but idle and don't get in. And Accenture only pick the best one's. I hope that makes sense when you read through that!

Good luck anyway!

friend of mine is there...midlevel management.

she likes it a lot...some pretty crazy office party stories...but mostly she says the only difficulty is to stay in jobs that she likes. there's lots of movement organizationally, and her goal is to be doing something that she's good at and enjoys. they seem perhaps a bit mercenary in personnel decisions, but i would guess it strongly depends on the office you're in. some markets are going to be very competitive...others less so. good luck.

I work for a competitor, but know a lot of people there. If you good at what you do and agressive in moving your career forward, you will like it there. They pay well and are well respected. The only complaints that I've heard were from people that weren't interested in agressively advancing their careers. The company frowns on staying in the same job, long term.

I know a few people that work for Accenture and they don't really have too many negative things to say about their job.
