Hepatitis A and B vaccination.. How long does it last?

I was talking to my parents today about Hepatitis and when I was last vaccinated for it, and they are pretty sure that I was vaccinated, but it's been awhile. This made me wonder how long a Hepatitis A and B vaccination is good for.. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

I thought vaccinations lasted forever. When I got my hepatitis shots, they never mentioned having to do it again ever.

Thanks for the reply and info..

Just to be clear.. Are Hepatitis A and B the forms that can be transferred via saliva, and Hepatitis C is only transferrable via blood or other bodily fluids?

I'm a little unclear on this, and while I'm pretty certain I am vaccinated against A and B, I'm curious about the differences between the various forms...

Also, is there a vaccine for Hepatitis C?

Thanks again!

Five to 10 years for Hepatitis.
Multi-shot programs are thought to last longer.

A is generally traced to sanitation issues. Passed via contact with feces or close personal contact.
B is transmitted by bodily fluids.
C does some nasty long-term things but afaik needs blood transmission. No vaccine yet.

C is Blood only from what I know as well. There is no vaccine and it results generally in giving you liver cancer.

I'm not positive on how long the shots last, but I'll try and look it up when i get home and have access to my books and post here.

It should be noted that you don't always "take" to the vaccine, that is, your body won't devlop the necessary immunity to the disease. There are tests to see whether or not it worked, but generally that's only done if you are in a high risk situation, like working at a hospital or something.
