Back Pain

Im a senior in high school, dunt ask, i got held back in second grade

anyways, im about 6 foot, 190, i play bball and basketball, im in between seasons, and im not in bad physical shape, but im not in peak condition.

I all of the sudden have some lower back pain, i've never really had a problem with back pain untill this year, i had it my freshman year, but that's because the desks in MY foudations of Tech class were small and u had to hunch over all period to do your work. Anyways, im wondering if theirs any easy ways to deal with it, it's not like a feirce pain, but when i change positions, like when i go from most any position to laying on my back it kind of hurts. any suggestions

Chiropractor, just find a good one. I had one, when I was moving, tell me to ask potential new chiropractors what texhniques they used. When they said Gunstead I should try them.

Otherwise, go for some good back excerises. Your basketball is probably playing havoc on your back. It did for me.

too many people confuse "back pain" with sore back muscles.

so i think stretching out your back muscles will help you a lot. You also mentioned basketball.

well, people need to wear good or even NEW shoes with CUSHIONING! Don't be cheap and wear $30 shoes and expect no pain.

why do you think NBA Players wear NEW SHOES EVERY GAME. It takes such a pounding and wears out the cushioning.

trust me, i play ball a lot. So Stretch and New Shoes.

And you know, that's one thing that a chiropractor will never tell you. They'll crack your back for years and let you walk around in crummy shoes with the heels worn down.

Another thing that might cause back pain is a lousy mattress. Does it have a great, big dent in one side where you sleep? Is there stuff coming out of the side? Then it's time for a new one, a firm one, and it can make a huge difference to how you feel in the morning.

And of course stretching's a fine idea, and physical activity that includes a lot of stretching. I'm middle-aged now, but I got my first back pains in my early 20s, when I got out of college and settled down to a desk job and basically stopped being physically active. I got into swimming and a few other things, and it all backed off.
