Muscle Twitching
For the last couple of months, I have been experiencing muscle twitching while trying to fall asleep. My muscles also seem to be overly tense during the day.
I've tried magnesium (Natural Calm.) It works, but not very efficiently. It makes my muscles relax, but the twitching still occurs. I try to do excerises where I tighten my entire body, and then relax. It feels good for about 20 seconds. I am currently on ritalin, which I know is part of the problem. My muscles twitches occured before I started taking it. Anyone know of any tricks? I am sure I'm missing something simple. My body just doesn't feel right. Thanks |
Potassium and water
eat more bananas and tomatoes drink more water rest repeat |
i get that sometimes, I'll be about to fall asleep in class and a muscle in my back will twitch. I'll sit up really fast because of the surprise and the teacher gives me a weird look. I really like it when my bicep starts to twitch because it feels weird and I can actually see it move but have no control over it. I guess that really doesnt help you out, but I wanted to say that i like it when my muscles twitch

I like it when my muscle twitches too - only my bicep wouldn't be my first choice, Gorilla! ;p
Seriously though - water and potassium just like Cowman said. You may also want to invest a few minutes each morning to stretching out, paying extra attention to the areas you are having trouble with. Don't stretch at night because initially it will aggravate it until your muscles develop some density. |
its a multi-modal thing
potassium as said above calcium water or body hydration levels tight muscles i.e. new level intensity / no stretching post workout often combined with weather change especially if colder weather even blood sugar levels to some extent tend to be often smaller muscles further away from the heart e.g. calves |
cowman what is "muscle density"? and how does it relate to stretching at night?
