Denver anyone?
I'm headed to the Denver area with my parents (I'm 23) to visit my older brother in early-mid September and was wondering if there are any "must-see" sites out there. I tend to shy away from super "touristy" sites (my trip to London in high school was the best because our chaperone (sp?) basically turned us loose to do our own exploring).
I'd prefer not getting too outrageously expensive, but I'm open to any and all suggestions! |
Well, There's Six Flags Elitch Gardens. Ocean Journey is a pretty cool aquarium to check out. The Denver Museum of Natural History is a neat place with a cool exhibit of dinosaur bones.
About an hour's drive south of Denver is Colorado Springs which has the Air Force Academy (Though it may not be open to the public anymore). You can also find Pike's Peak at Colorado Springs. If you can drive an hour north from Denver to Loveland and 40 minutes west, you'll find yourself at Rocky Mountian National Park which is a really cool place to hang out in the mountians. It really depends on how much time you have and how far outside of the city you can go since a lot of the great places are in the mountians west of the city. |
I really enjoyed the Denver Musem of Natural History, along with Rocky Mountain National Park. The Coors brewery tour in Golden was pretty cool too.

Do you like outdoorsy type things? Going out? Breweries?

I'm pretty open to just about anything. I know I'll only be there four days so really whatever you think the best of the best is. Outdoorsy is nice, as is going out. Not much of a beer drinker, myself, though.

I think you should check out this thread:
