Showering Questions
1. How long is your average shower?
-If I'm in a hurry, I can do it in about 5 minutes, but on average it's about 15 minutes for me. 2. After you shower, how/where do you dry? -I kinda wipe excess water from my body, and then get out and dry w/ a big towel. I'm asking this because my mom got a new bathmat, and she told my brother's and I to dry inside the shower, and that thats what is "normal", so I was just curious. |

I take about 10 minutes or so and I dry outside the shower, thats' the whole purpose of a friken bath mat.

I'm always in a rush, im lucky to get 10 minutes in the shower!!!
My drying procedure is simple... Stand in shower, grab towel get semi-dry, step out of the shower, stand on the mat til my feet feel dry, continue drying process infront of TV in bedroom catchin up on news.

I spend about 10 minutes under the water, most of that time is shampooing and conditioning. Now that I've got longer hair it's taking up far too much time so I'm thinking of getting it cut short again.
I dry off with a towel outside the shower. I've never been able to do it in the shower, the steam and the towel against the wet tiles/glass never makes me feel dry. Drying inside the shower is weird to me! |

Yeah, I was never able to dry in the shower due to the wet curtain/steam all around. It defeats the purpose. And my mom said that we should dry in the shower because after we get out and dry and everything, there are two wet spots on the mat, and they take forever to dry, but isn't that the whole point of a bath mat?! I said that and my mom just told me to shut up, so that ended the argument pretty quickly.

I spend about 15 minutes, but that includes shaving in the shower. Somebody gave me a no-condensation shower mirror for my birthday, but I've been shaving by touch for 25 years.
To dry, I step out onto a bathmat and grab a towel, unless it's really damn cold and I didn't turn on the heat. Then I'll reach out of the shower and pull the towel in with me. Lately I've stopped washing my hair as often, and without the shampoo I'm out in under ten minutes. |

15-20 min, including shaving my head. And I really need to get me one of those no-condensation mirrors, cause I seem to pull a Van Gogh every time (ouch!).
To dry up, I just grab a towel, while still standing in the bathtub, and dry off there.

Wow, you guys take such short showers!
My showers are usually 20-40 minutes...but that's with shampoo, conditioner (for pretty long hair), shaving underarms, legs and soap... I usually step out of the shower when I'm done, squeeze out my hair into the tub and then wipe myself down briefly with a towel. Then I'll leave the bathroom and do a more thorough drying before putting my clothes on. |

20-25.
Start by shampooing the hair and then putting in conditioner. While the conditioner sits for 10 minutes I clean the rest of myself and wash the conditioner out at the end. Dry in the shower and dry each foot as I step out of the shower and onto the mat. As I exit the bathroom the cool air hits my body and I know exactly where I haven't completely dried off - I finish drying in between listening to music and then another 15 minutes to blow-dry my hair.

Gawd, I'd kill to be able to have enough hot water for that long a shower I'm about 15 minutes at most. that includes washing and conditioning hair, and brushing teeth, I'm pretty good at multi-tasking before the hot water runs out or someone in the apartment downstairs flushes. The hair goes in a towel, and I throw on a cushy terry cloth bathrobe and off to the kitchen for coffee.

I keep my showers short to save water, picked up this habit living off of a cistern in the Virgin Islands. I only turn on the water to wet myself before lathering, and after to rinse, 5 to ten min max. As for drying off, I do it in the shower so I don't get the floor wet

5 - 15 mins depending on how tired I am. Longer if I am still in the process of waking up.
Dry off half in half out of the shower. If I take a shower with someone else though, then the time seems to go up considerably, even if there is no / little hanky panky going on...

1-If i'm not washing my hair, 10 mins, if i'm washing my hair, 30+ (i have alot of hair)
2- I shake off a bit, then air dry while shaving/brushing my teeth. If i'm still wet after that, then it's a quick wizz round with the towel. |

how about this:
how often do you shower and what time of the day? With school being so busy and generally not caring in between I can go 3 days without one. And I usually prefer night/afternoon showers.

Geeze, you guys take the quickest showers ever! I love the feel of hot water on me so I'm normally in there for at least 30 minutes, more if I need to shave my legs, underarms, etc. If I have to, I can be in and out in 5-10 minutes. Just not the most fun for me.

Wash hair, wash body, rinse. Dry inside the shower!

During the week, I like to take night/afternoon showers. Morning showers usually mean I'm in too much of a rush to get anything else done before leaving my house...and my hair tends to puff up when I go outside without letting my hair dry (I always let it air-dry because I'm afraid of killing my hair with a blow-dryer). During the weekends, though, it's nice to sleep in, do a long workout (2 hours or so), and take a shower in the afternoon. |

During school, I take showers around 10pm, then watch some TV and go to bed. Right now, I'm working in the woods til about 4 every day, so I take a shower as soon as I get home because I'm all sweaty and smelly. On the weekends, I just take a shower whenever I get the motivation.

I typically take 20-30 minute showers. As for drying, I dry off a bit in the shower so that I'm not dripping all over, then I do the majority of drying outside of the shower.
I take a shower once a day at pretty much whatever time suits me. I can't do anything or even see anyone without a shower though, so I typically take one in the morning at some point. But if it's a day that I'm not doing anything much, I may just sit around until 5 or 6 doing whatever before I take one. All depends on what I'm doing and how I feel.

Geez, I'm all over the place.
I've taken 30 minute showers using up all of the hot water in the house in the winter. The shortest was probably during high school when I could shower, shave, dress, the works and be out the door within 15 minutes. Normally though I spend somewhere around 8-13 minutes in the shower.

Depends on if Im shaving the legs or not (its a cycling thing). If Im not, showers take 5-10 minutes. If I am, 20-30. I really just need to get the damn things waxed and be done with it.
As for the drying, I just dry off with the towel. Is there really more than one way to do it?

i take 10 minutes on the shower...i usually shave when i take a bath, so my skin is softer...and then i wring my hair, and hop out onto the towel on the floor, grab one off the rack, and then proceed to the bath mat and dry off as much as possible...then i run around naked and air dry...it makes the skin softer

A normal shower in the morning doesn't take me more than 5 minutes, and I'm considerably hygenic in general.
I get in, water off, shampoo, use bar soap, then wash all the shampoo and soap off. I usually wipe off in the shower and dry off with a towl. Get out, wash face with Clearasil, and brush teeth and put on deodorant. I then use an electric razor to shave once my face is dry. Viola I think it takes me a total of around 10-15 minutes in the bathroom (stopping in and out along the way) before an ordinary work day.

My showers avg. 9 minutes (digital clock on the shower radio). Includes soaping body, washing hair, shaving face, & washing face. After the shower I grab the towel and dry my upper body. I then get out of the shower to dry my hair, and then I dry my legs, usually by lifing my legs up on the sink counter (one at a time...) to make sure all is dry in the crossroads. I don't mind getting the bathmat wet. I thought that is what they were for. That's what I bought it for! |
