Work banned me from TFP!

Just wanted to rant about how I used to be able to spend all my downtime at work on TFP. Apparently they have spy and tracking software to see where their employees surf to and for how long. I must have set off a red flag. So I went to TFP, (or tried to) Thursday morning, and lo and behold, the site was blocked. Fucking assholes. I get my work done and my work comes first and I always do a good job, but if there is nothing to do, don't fucking block my favorite site. I mean, the only other thing I have to do is pick my ass, I don't really think my coworkers want to see that.

But a twist of fate. I put in my two week notice. HAHAHA! I found a better job.
So fuck you soul-less mega corporation.

I will TFP!

Congrats on the new job! If you want to get some last-minute TFPing done during those last two weeks at your old job, I recommend connecting via a proxy server.

http://www.antiproxy.com has lists of proxies available, and information about bypassing such censorship.

Not that i would encourage bypassing a firwewall - -but it's good to point out to the IT folks where their's is falling down...

I VNC out from my home server. works for most places as IT people usually leave those ports open so that they can work remotely from home. Thank goodness for lazy IT people, I usually don't have problems from most places that I've been on, even around the world.

Or here's another idea... how bout you keep TF browsing on your own time? Then you wont run into this problem.

If for no other reason than to keep you from getting sick of it too quickly....

like us IT people have nothing else better to do then fix your pc when you fuck around and bypass security. in my place of work, you would be left maintaining your own pc...because obviously you must have the time to do that if you can take the time to get around the security that was setup for YOUR protection.

If they have the technical knowledge to drill through the firewall, chances are they dont need the support anyways

Back when I was an evil network administrator, I found a lot of good sites to bypass firewalls, simply by reading the firewall log... and then banning that site, and depending on the mood of the day, they'd get a strongly worded message from HR for violating the internet policy, or a thank you for finding a hole in the firewall (I was a benevolent sometimes)

Parental controls were way more effective as punishment... (G'head, call the help desk and tell then you can't get to HotTeenSluts.com... -- I dare ya

slim chances but yes. I had one guy insist that I fix his SGI machine one time. I said, why? you blew it up... I don't support SGI machines.. I support the DELLS... you make the SGI at least boot up to NT and I'll get the rest of it on the network etc. Next time you'll think twice about farking around with the machine.
