Any thoughts or Stories?

Diving is superb
it's incredibly affordable - -because American's technically aren't allowed to spend money there.
If you are a classic car lover, it's Paradise, the amount of old cars that are still running is phenomenal
The people were amazing, so warm, friendly, inviting
Cigars - oh the cigars - with a nice dark rum, what a way to end the evening. (can't bring them back in though)

You can get there pretty easily going thru Canada, they don't stamp the passport.

Another way is to go thru Cancun.. depending on where you live.. Its risky bringing the cigars back but people do it all the time

How about via the Caymans? Anyone ever try it?

Last time I was there I noticed a travel agency specializing in it.

I wish I could go, my family is from Cuba, I was born and raised in the states. I'm just not into supporting Castro in any way, shape or form.

Going to Cuba = Supporting Castro.

Grand Cayman is beautiful and wonderful diving if that's what you are going for.

Drawbacks - it's a pretty big tourist destination and a big cruise ship haven - translate that to tons of tourists running around and it's a little expensive.
