bad technique
if no one has told you that you have bad technique how do you know. im still think im new to weightlifting how can you tell if you are doing it wrong
|
you have to know what's proper form before you can know what's wrong... either check out lifting sites or books, one book i can recommend is "strength training anatomy" by frederic delavier. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
feel free to PM me if you have questions. |
If you are looking for videos that show the proper way to do various lifts and excersizes, I recommend checking out Men's Health's fitness portion of their website; particulary the Home Grown Muscle series.
Not as much for the workouts, as the videos they provide. The site can be found HERE. You will see there are 10 phases. Each phase has diffferent lifts and excersizes, and at the bottom of each page (of a phase) there are numbers (links) that go into more detail.. And also have videos of how the excersizes are done properly. It's possible they are doing some of the same lifts/excersizes you are, and thus you can watch a video or two and compare your form to theirs. Take care. |

Sums up pretty much all weight lifts, gives detailed descriptions and for most of the lifts gives a video. If you cant get someone to judge your form (which I recommend you do) you can try using it |
worth looking at the above ^^^ here's a few points that occur though
1 get the stance right (feet about shoulder width apart, legs slightly bent) 2 nice and smooth, don't jerk the weights, don't lock joints out (can put a lot of stress on the joint) 3 warm up with light weights, don't go for glory too early on |
