Scotland in September

I'm heading to Scotland in September to get married! We'll get married in a castle near Peebles outside of Edinburgh. Afterwards we'll explore Edinburgh and Stirling. Any suggestions on things we shouldn't miss?

Edinburgh Castle is spectacular - bring a camera - you'll get fantastic views of the city
If churches are your thing, (I like the architecture of them) there's a big cathedral on high street that's stunning, i just can't remember that saint it's named after

The Royal Mile is a nice walk that takes you past all the "must see" places in Edinburgh -

The scotch whiskey heritage center....

Wear comfortable shoes, you will walk the soles of your feet off, this is not the trip to wear new shoes. Be prepared for any kind of weather. The people are friendly, the pubs are plentiful, the public transportation in the city is real workable -
Stay away from Haggis - -that stuff's nasty

Actually I eat Haggis on a regular basis! The fiance' thinks I'm nuts but I like the stuff. Definately looking forward to the Castles and spending some time in the pubs as well.

Even if you're not a golfer, try to get over to St. Andrews. It's a quaint town with alot of shops. There is also ruins of a castle there. I played three courses at St. Andrews including the old course (oldest course in the world) But if you want to play, you need to have a certified handicap, I think it can't be more than 12, and you need to have a club professional send a letter of recommendation to the course. And of course, the pubs are great!

Prince's Street in Edinburgh has 19 pubs in under a mile. See if you can have a pint in each of them.
