Wow, I'm really surprised there hasn't been any posts about Cuba.

I havn't gone, but I really want to go soon. I want to make sure to do it while Castro's still around.

Anyway from what I hear the way to do it is to fly into Mexico City and get a plane from there.

Any other advice on how to get there, can you book it all online?

Have any of you gone?

this is definitely something to do before Castro dies.
its commonly believed that when he dies, so will the embargo, and the Cuban way of life... the Batista rats will come flooding back to the island and put McDonalds on every street corner.

friends of mine were there recently and they happened to be there for the massive 45th anniversary of the revolution. apparently they had huge street parties on every corner... must've been fantastic.

incidently they flew in via Mexico City.

if Castro can hold on for another 5 years, i reckon NYE Havana in 2009 would be one HECK OF A GREAT PARTY.

i wonder if it would be possible to fly in to Cuba via Jamaica or another of the Caribbean islands?
