any idea how to keep the washer from getting off balance when doing sheets and comfeters (sp?)? i dread doing them cause it's such a pain.

lol...comforters. man, that fucking loud clunking drives me insane!!! really, the only thing you can do when it happens is to pull it all out and evenly redistribute the weight around the basket. and hope that it only happens about a dozen times before they are ready for the dryer.

It clunks because it doesn't have all four feet on the floor. Put a stack of washers or a folded-up wad of cardboard under the short foot. You may have to wait until it's running to do this.

I had a washer that would literally walk across the laundry room whenver something absorbant and heavy like blankets or jeans were in there. The only long-term fix (and opening the basket and resorting things is a <i>short</i> term fix) was to shim up the short foot.
