I hope this is the right place for this.
We will be taking a trip through the Okeechobee waterway in a couple weeks. I was wondering if anyone out there has been throught it and knows of any problems (or adventures) other than whay the maps show. Thanks |

I will be leaving from Largo (near Tampa) south to the Caloosahchee river and on through the sytem. When I come out at Stuart I have to come north to Satellite Beach. It is around 300 miles.
I bought a 36 ft Gibson house boat over there so it will be a slow but comfortable ride. We start on the 27th and hope to make it in 3 days.(wishful thinking) It ought to be quite an adventure. I will put up some pics when I get back |

I'm curious if you can make the trip in three days. There is so much beauty to see (especially on the west side of the Okeechobee), you'll want to take your time and not try to race thru, not that you can with a houseboat, anyway. Am looking forward to seeing your photos, also. Please share.
