Scary

http://www.uofaweb.ualberta.ca/publi...s/03092004.cfm I was studying in the same library this afternoon. I didn't know about this, but I was there starting at 12:30 and when I left I noticed blood on the stairs- I thought someone had had a nosebleed or something. Which means the guy was stabbed while I was in the library, I guess one floor below. Certainly it must have been targeted, three guys walk in, stab him, and walk out. It just seems strange. Granted Edmonton is a somewhat big place (about 750,000 and around 1,000,000 in the greater area) and such things aren't unheard of, but it still seems surrealistic. Perhaps since it was in a acedemic setting- it wouldn't seem so out of place to happen in the parking lot outside of a bar, but I thought being in a library studying precluded the possibility of violent crime. edit - url fix and syntax error |

Bossnass- my sister's boyfriend was 3 cubicles over from this guy! I never knew Cameron Library was so dangerous lol
But yeah this guy (lebonese i think) was attacked by 3 other guys (leb as well, at least what I heard) most people around thought it was some sort of birthday bumps because they were smacking him with newspapers (or some kind of paper). But there were knives inside the papers so when they hit they sunk through into the guy. He then fell down and I heard most people started getting worried then. When he managed to get back up the three assailants ran out the emergency exit. Then that guy started running! Out of cameron all the way to SUB (Student's Union Building)! I'm amazed because he lost A LOT of blood. As he ran out of cameron, blood got all over studying people's stuff- calculators, notebooks, everything. Buy ummm yeah that's the gossip I heard, from a firsthand witness.

Wow. All I'm used to is people killing themselves at school. I don't think I remember any attacks other than the small attempts made at me.
Here's hoping the victim lives through his hospital stay. With the lack of routine killings in most Canadian cities, I wonder whether the Edmonton police have thought to have a guard posted by the victim's door. |
