Lesson learnt at the Strip Club
 

Always make a decision on how much you want to spend before you get a private dance, and for god's sake, make sure you find out exactly how much its going to cost.

My buddy and I went to the rippers after clubbing on the weekend. Found out that it was $60/hr for a private dance in the room. Here we go thinking that its $10 a song or something like that and that its a great idea. It wasnt' until after the first song that some non-stripper girl comes into the room to tell us that it was $60 get the room, and another $20 a song. Next thing we know, its $580 total for the two of us.

Ah, lesson learnt I suppose.

D'oh! Yeah hit 'em up first about the hidden costs! I learned that no matter how much I tip the girls, they still won't go home with me...

Nothing is written in stone, or even written at all for that matter. I was part of a semi-stag evening about a month ago (no wedding, but our girls were having a "tupperware" party). One thing led to another and we found ourselves in VIP sitting with half the crew getting lap dances.

I wasn't part of the deal making, but when we were hit up for $800 bucks (and it was near closing and we were ready to go) our brave leader started bargaining, first with one of the girls then with the bouncer. Came to around $250 and everybody was happy except the girl that tried to rip us off initally. We weren't as cheap as it sounds, it was a case of "$50 for the VIP sitting. Ok, sure. (then later... oh, that was 50 each) No, no it wasn't.

Kind of hate to say it...but I was thinking pretty much the same damn thing. I've been walking this planet for over 40 years, and I've certainly been to my share of strip clubs. I've never seen a private dance that high.

You need to make some stripper friends, then go to their club(s). Just go to the semi-sleazy clothing store that sells the sex toys (you know the place) and start tossing around jokes. People who know you are less likely to dick you over.

I've seen private champagne rooms that high.

Between the entry $100, mandatory bar tab $100, prepay 3 dances $60, I've spent a good amount of cash. Thank goodness it was all winnings from the craps tables in Vega$!

I know in Vegas, a stripper kept trying to get me to go for the "private dance". So, I inquired about the price:

$175 for 15 minutes plus "gratuities"!!

That's waaaay more than I'd care to spend.

What a freaking waste of money. For a few bucks more you could have found yourself a good whore.

Prices for services should always be up front. If you misunderstood, you should pay the damage. If they are making up shit to fleece you, you needed to state so and ask for management.

IMO, you got less than you paid for by a long shot.

Translation: they saw you coming... Never, EVER, fall in "love" with a dancer and let her lead you to parts unknown where the wallet is concerned, and never, EVER assume that you're going to get anything more than blue balls in the "special" rooms, and you'll leave the club having had a good time, but with some of your money still in your wallet...

Just curious, but what would happen if you just refused to pay? I mean, I probably would concoct a decent plan of escape, but it might not be worth it if you are just going to get your ass beat in the parking lot by the bouncer(s)

next time, just go to mexico, you can get a back room dance with "special" options for like $20.

I disagree that they are the most awesome women though. I have dated these women (some very good looking in the clubs), and they aren't any different from many awesome looking women that you meet elsewhere as well. $60 for the private room and $20/song. It doesn't seem that unreasonable too me. One thing that bugs me is that you had $460 in dances. That's 23 total dances, did one of you get more than the other?
