Being 30...how does it feel?
I never thought it'd make much of a difference, turning 30. And I haven't yet, as I'm only turning 27 this spring...but...27!! What the hell happened? That sounds so old now... I don't feel that old... But growing up, they always spoke of the crisis you supposedly experience when you hit the big Three O'.
If you're already 30 or over, did you experience any change within yourself? Or if you're closing in on it, how do you feel about it? |
nope. i hit all the goals i set for 30 at 28, so my 30th was not that stressful.
i just turned 35 and I had accomplished so much more in the past 2 years that I never thought I'd ever accomplished, like buying a place in NYC. IMHO it's all about how comfortable you are being you. |

It's just a number. I'm 31, and sometimes it feels old, but usually it's just the age I am. I wouldn't trade a year of my experience to be a year younger.

I just turned 30 yesterday. Doesn't feel any different, not that I was expecting an epiphany or anything. I don't like that fact that now I can't say I'm a twenty-something. Kinda puts me in an older set of mind but that should be a choice. I want to keep thinking young but be wise. I need to take risks still but juts choose my risks wisely I guess. I'll check back later and let you know if being 30 changes how I feel about myself. Honestly I don't think it will. Life and experience is what molds my thinking not the number of years I've been on this earth. I was not looking forward to turning thirty. Kept kindof vaguely worrying about it. I really don't know why though. The day after really is no different. I'm curious to see if people react any differently toward me. I don't look 30 I know that. I take consolation in that and intend to take care of my body and health to preserve that as long as I can.

I've got five months till my 30th. It is not anything I'm dreading or worried about. I don't feel like I am almost 30. I don't act like I am almost 30. So why is it going to make much of a difference when I actually turn 30? . But at 27 you have more important things to be thinking about than being 30. Good luck, because we only go around once, enjoy every year.

I just turned 25. I think if I had the same mindset now as I did when I turned 22, I would be in a lot of trouble.
When I turned 22 all I could think about was I was 8 years away from 30. It was depressing. I've since decided that I can not stop aging. Its just not going to happen. So I learned to live with it. But I feel ya, I have no clue how I turned 25. It seems like I was just 18. |

I'm looking at 17 year old girls and I'm like, "Wait, I can't date them anymore? WTF happened?" |
I'll be 34 in August, it doesn't mean a thing to me. As others have said it's all in your mind. My perception of myself is still rooted in being about 20.

The scary thing is being 48 and still feeling like you're 25. Of course you're not 25; the nice thing about getting older is that while the body collects more dings and rust, the mind (assuming you're open to growing) keeps getting better.
So it's great, but occasionally you'll see yourself on video and ask, "who the hell is THAT?" |
Turning 30 was no big deal. Neither was 40. It's just a number to me.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was. |
30 was a big deal to me as it was approaching. I was weirded out by the fact that I was leaving my 20s. Ultimately it meant very little.
I'll be 36 this year and am quickly approaching 40 but it just doesn't seem as daunting as 30 was... Like Cynthetiq I've accomplished more with my life since 30 than I probably did in my 20s... Life is relatively good. |
oh yeah... forgot to mention when you fill out surveys you have to remember to check off a different box.

Turning 30 was no big deal. Turning 40 was no big deal.
When your well past 40 and think back at how you felt about turning 30 you'll laugh at yourself because it's no big deal. It's just a number, nothing more. |

Eh, it was just another date for me. No big changes. The best was 25, when my car insurance finally went down.

Hey, I'm 27 too man...I think about getting crusty from time to time, but you know what? Getting older is better than getting nothin' at all.
To loosley quote George Jung from the movie Blow.(I know he's a drug dealin convict, but I think there is truth to this)... "Life passes most people by while their making grand plans for it." Something to ponder. |
Turning 30 was much easier than turning 40. :)
|
To me, just the same as turning 35. Just another day. I'm happy with my life, and I don't set goals.
And, of course, getting older beats the alternative, which is death. |
