Ideas on Starting a Website for Business
I'm still mentally working out the details on my website idea.
I think it will have three sides to it 1) a Business side where venders can advertise their goods 2) a Customer side where customers can browse vendors 3) a forum side where vendors can discuss their trades or customers can ask vendors for questions. I have ideas for advertising and getting people onto this website but... I've never actually owned, operated or developed a website... Does anyone here have experience with this? Sure I can buy a website via netsol or Godaddy... but I'm looking for something that is naturally expanding. Also legal issues still come to mind... |

If you have money to invest, I would suggest contacting a local professional web developer so that you can walk through with them exactly what you need/want.
If not, search for website building services that meet your criteria. There's Geocities, Homestead, Earthlink, Angelfire, Xoom........there is also somewhere, not sure where, that will give a list of all webspace domains and will list the features/criteria/details of each one, and you can pick from that what will best work for you. |

Here is an idea, though currently poorly carried out, create a god, then sell cheap stickers advertising your fake gods website to angry little gothic girls. (ie http://www.nameless-one.com) On second thought, dont bother, you'd never make enough to cover the 10 buck it takes to keep it up and running.

Okay I'm trying to do this on the cheap. Perhaps I'll invest more money later.
Thusfar I have 1) Registered a domain name I am thinking about putting something like a bulletin board on it... but a sectioned off bulletin board specifically for consumers and vendors to get in contact with one another. Believe it or not I'm a pretty smart guy and can do things like web graphics all by my lonesome. I like the God Idea... I'm just not sure how many business owners would react to it. (Maybe if I was solely focussing on the tattooing industry.) |

This is basically exactly what my new company does: set people up with ecommerce websites.
PM me if you want to talk about this. I'd be happy to see what I can do for you as inexpensively as possible. One way or another, you'll be into the hundreds of dollars, approaching the high hundreds but maybe not a thousand. That's about as cheaply as it can be done, to do it right. |

hello,
Im sort of looking for the same thing. I been to VBulletin website and I see that they are quite expensive for there Bulletin software. Is there any out there that is free or limited cost? Id like something that I can create catagorys like TFP has and a user name and pass word to access them. Some way of letting certain people in to certain areas as well. Any help would be great.. Thanks, Andy |
