Is there anything wrong with being hungry?
Ok, curious question, Is there anything wrong with being hungry in general? I mean the second I get the message my stomach wants food am I losing muscle every second I wait until I eat? Because sometimes im hungry the last 45 minutes before I get home because I eat 3 hours before because I want to try and get a HIIT in, am I losing muscle for the 45 minutes that im hungry or do you not lose muscle until you are to a dangerous hunger point? Because I guess I can bring something to eat or something random but its just a odd question hoping for a odd answer if anyone knows anything ehhe

If you're hungry all the time, you are not eating enough food. Either that or the food you are eating is high in sugar and keeping your insulin levels spiked all day (making you craving more throughout the day). What do you eat for breakfast? Go check out www.fitday.com and tweak your diet accordingly.

Ive been changing by diet quite a bit plan but here it is just for the sake of fun:
Breakfast-Can of chicken + 6 - 8 strawberrys Lunch-apple + strawberrys + deli chicken/turkey 3 PM: Tuna + 1 tbsp olive oil Dinner (5 pm)- random meat drained somewhat 7 pm- chicken cottage cheese anything I try to get a snack between breakfast and lunch but it is tough due to time issues and I have no real time to eat with classes. Im dieting currently and the gains have sort of stopped and I cant lift weights for 2 weeks with a broken wrist so all im doing is light cardio + HIITs On average I get about 1600 calories in a day or try to .. I dont eat carbs after 4 - 5 PM and the biggest issue is even if I eat im almost always hungry a hour or 2 later any advice? I try to keep the metabolism up but I will just suddenly get hungry and the only sugar I get in a day is fruit sugars. |

Hehe, Im 5'10 or 5'11 (I have a screwed disc in my back so it acctually varies a bit but pretty much 5'11) and im 207 lbs and have about 20% BF
Am I really not eating enough? Ive been trying to eat more I started at 1200 went to 1400 then 1600 - 1800 by adding a few nuts to the diet and I figured 1600 - 1800 would be good and goals? To be healthy I guess, trying to get my BF to about 13% aprox and about 170 lbs (ive got shit for arm muscles but massive legs and legs weigh alot so I think 170 is pretty good) |

I have a question. Do you really have to eat that way to lose weight? I am about 5'10" and 195 lbs. I can't seem to do anything noticable as far as losing weight.

If you eat too little, your body is starving for food, and it will start to immediately convert the food you eat into fat to store it. Eating too little is counterproductive. The key is to eat enough so that your body isn't trying to store fat but not to eat so much that you are taking in more than you are burning. It is really a fine line to. On Weight Watcher's I have averaged 1.5-2 lbs a week in weight loss (total of about 77 lbs now). However I have gone from losing up to 4 lbs in a week to losing nothing. I haven't gained a single week since June, 2003. The only times I have been very hungry on this diet were in the first 6 weeks when my body was getting used to the lower food intake. I'll sometimes be a little hungry when I go to bed but a little water intake cures that. I'm around 2000 cals a day, and I exercise enough to burn around 300 cals a day. Also, I'm not 100% consistent in this 2000 cals/day. On Saturdays, we go out for a family dinner, and I'm probably taking in around 2800 cals. The next day though I'm not nearly as hungry, so I end up eating around 1800 cals for the next couple of days to take out the excess. It seems to have worked out alright.

thank you for the response sky, I added about 500 calories in nuts to my diet so Im getting about 70 G of fat a day now (no bad fat though all froms nuts or meats)
so now im getting about 2000 in a day or trying to, getting the right amount is easy on weekends but on weekdays I have to plan out meals around classes. 500 from nuts 300 from fruits 300 from chicken 180 from tuna 400 for a dinner meat 300 from a protein shake + banana + 3 straw + 1% milk 120 from olive oil hmm Im still only coming up with 1980, which is ok I guess but getting a bit more would be safer I beleive, does anyone have any advice on how to accumulate good carbs? I find it nearly impossible to get my 150 aprox carbs in the morning even when eating 4 or 5 pieces of fruit. Is there anything wrong with eating apples etc later on in the day? I mean not at 9 pm but as long as its before my cardio at 5:30 I should be ok shouldnt I? |

If you are really serious about losing weight then personally you should reformat your diet, losing weight is easy and fun if done right however, if you wont take the right steps in the right direction progress will be slow. |

Dude, you seriously need more carbs since it sounds like you are only getting a few from fruit. Working out you need at least 2,000 calories/day if not more. I eat immediately after a long bike ride and don't even count that as a meal, just recovery.
You need to eat to lose weight or your body justs shuts down and stores fat. Also, sometimes when you feel hungry you need water.
